ARC August 2017 – Check in #2 – 8/8-8/13

arc-august2

And so goes another week of ARC August 2017. This past week was also a fairly busy one for me, between work and trying to exercise and also trying to spend time with husband and family there doesn’t seem to be a lot of time leftover for reading lately. Even with Goal Day this past Saturday I was only able to read one book this past week. This month will continue to be a busy one for me but hopefully I will catch up while on vacation at the end of the month! Anyways, so here’s where I stand right now:

MY PROGRESS

-Are You Sleeping by Kathleen Barber – Read and reviewed
-Emerald Coast by Anita Hughes – Read and reviewed (Week 1)
-Leave the Night On by Laura Trentham – Read and reviewed (Week 1)

-Bad Girl Gone by Temple Mathews
-Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker
-Seeing Red by Sandra Brown – Reading now

Are You Sleeping by Kathleen Barber – 3.75 stars

Plan for Upcoming Week

I have a busy week coming up with 4 exercise classes, 2 meetings, 2 days at a new client and a day planned for going to wineries with my mom and mother-in-law! Might have to break into my sleeping time to get some reading done but hopefully I’ll be able to fit it in somewhere! The book I’m reading right now (new release by Sandra Brown, out tomorrow!) is pretty good and I can’t wait to finish it and share my thoughts with all of you. Happy reading everyone!!

ARC August 2017 – Check in #1 – 8/1-8/7

arc-august2

So the first week of ARC August 2017 was slightly productive. I managed to read a good amount during the week but Friday my husband and I went on a winery trip and then Saturday and Sunday I was traveling and visiting with family. So the weekend was pretty busy, not much reading got done but many good times were had! So here’s where I stand:

MY PROGRESS

-Are You Sleeping by Kathleen Barber – Reading now
-Emerald Coast by Anita Hughes – Read and reviewed
-Leave the Night On by Laura Trentham – Read and reviewed
-If The Creek Don’t Rise by Leah Weiss
-Bad Girl Gone by Temple Mathews
-Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker
-Seeing Red by Sandra Brown
-13 Dates by Matt Dunn
-The Other Girl by Erica Spindler
-Ready to Run by Lauren Layne
-The Uncertain Season by Ann Howard Creel
-Pretend You’re Safe by Alexandra Ivy

Books Read August 1st – 7th

Emerald Coast by Anita Hughes – 1.0 stars
Leave The Night On by Laura Trentham – 3.5 stars

Plan for Upcoming Week

Work for me this week is going to be a bear so I’m not sure how much reading I’ll get done but I’m hoping to get a couple books in. Goal Day is thankfully this Saturday so that will give me a chance to get some solid reading devoted time (hopefully). We’ll see how it goes though, happy reading everyone!

July was a fairly productive month for me, I got a good amount of reading done and some good Blog Tour posts. 2. Continue establishing relationships – I think I’m doing it, we’ll see how it goes I guess!

Next Month TBR List:

I read all but one of the books on my TBR from last month, which was great. I’m trying to be ambitious for this next month with the ARC August and the vacation I have coming up. Might not get to all of these but hopefully will get to most!!

2017 Monthly Status Update: June

giphy.gif

June wasn’t my best month for reading. I had a lot going on between work and family life and I’ve just been so tired this month. Which unfortunately means I’m falling pretty far behind schedule, I will have a lot of 2017 releases to catch up on later this year in addition to my 2016 ones I missed. So anyways, here is my progress for the month of May!

    2. Continue establishing relationships – I think I’m doing it, we’ll see how it goes I guess!

Next Month TBR List:

My rollover list from prior months was getting too long so this list is  refreshed version! I didn’t get through all the TBR on last month’s list, I’m just realizing that catching up on the 13 books I missed may not be realistic LOL! This is just my base list, I’m hoping to get through a lot more than this but I go through the decisions on a week by week basis.

-Storming the Castle by Arianna Hart

Bout of Books 19 Update & WRAP UP

KcxHEGZ

Day 7 was mostly spent with family and I also spent the morning volunteering but I managed to read about 2 hours at night before bed. My Sunday’s progress is below followed by my wrap up of my overall Bout of Books accomplishments:

Updates

Sunday
Number of pages I’ve read today: 110
Total number of pages I’ve read: 1,076
Books read today: I finished Mediterranean Caper by Clive Cussler, review will be up tonight!
Challenges: Sunday was a free day so there was no challenge

Time Devoted to Reading

My goal was to devote at least 2 hours a day to reading and I unfortunately did not reach that goal every day! I read about 17 hours over the course of the 7 days which was good, but last year for this challenge I read 27 hours so there was a definite decline. And I only read just over 1,000 pages compared to over 1,700 pages so while I accomplished a lot in one week I wish it had gone a little better!

My Goals

My goal for this read-a-thon was to do the daily challenges, read about two hours a day and have fun! I posted a update every day on how the previous day went and I also did Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday‘s “challenge” post.  I really had a lot of fun with Thursday’s “Character Dating profile” post!

Books to Read

Overall I think it was a pretty successful week considering how many other engagements / work projects I had going on. I had a great time participating and I will definitely want to participate in another Bout of Books in the future!

Bout of Books 19 Update – Day 6

KcxHEGZ

Day 6 was not my most productive reading day. I had planned to get up early and read before the plans we had with our family but I ended up sleeping in so I only really ended up reading for like an hour before bed. So anyways, my Saturday’s progress is below:

Updates

Saturday
Number of pages I’ve read today: 70
Total number of pages I’ve read: 966
Books read today: I continued reading Mediterranean Caper
Challenges: I did not participate in the Saturday challenge, there just isn’t enough time in the day, and also similar to Friday I didn’t feel like digging through my boxes of books

Today (Sunday) is the last day of the read-a-thon and I spent time volunteering this morning and then spent the afternoon at my little cousin’s First Communion and then having brunch with my family! I am going to try and do some reading now but seeing as how its already almost bedtime I’m not sure how much I’ll get to read. That’s ok though, Happy reading everyone!
